Our Beliefs

The bond that unites us is the love of God and faith in Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. On this foundation we believe:

  1. The Scriptures. The Bible is inspired and revealed by God, who communicated his mind, his heart and his will through chosen men, guided by the Holy Spirit, who ensured the message was faithful.
  2. Foundational doctrine. We affirm the doctrine of the apostles, salvation, the Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, one God), the resurrection of the dead and eternal life.
  3. The birth of Christ. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit.
  4. The death and resurrection of Christ. Jesus Christ was crucified, rose on the third day and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.
  5. Salvation. Every person must acknowledge and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the world.
  6. Baptism. Every believer, after receiving Christ as personal Savior, should be baptized by immersion in water, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  7. Spiritual gifts. We believe in the ministries, gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
  8. The Rapture. Jesus Christ will come for his church.
  9. The creation of humankind. God created man in his image and likeness.
  10. Christian witness. Every believer should be a good witness in the church, the community and the home, and conduct themselves rightly wherever they are, as the light of the world.
  11. Authority. Believers should obey civil and church authorities.
  12. The mission of the church. It is our duty to spread biblical beliefs and doctrine through preaching and teaching.
  13. Marriage. God instituted marriage between a man and a woman, as the Bible establishes.
  14. The Lord’s Supper. Communion is for members who have been baptized in water. It symbolizes our union with Christ, remembers his suffering and death, and proclaims his soon return.
